Cristina has gained significant experience in complex international arbitration cases conducted under the rules of leading arbitration institutions in a wide range of sectors, in particular in the energy and natural resources, oil, gas and mining, insurance and insolvency sectors.
Before national courts, Cristina has mainly been involved in contractual disputes, administrative litigation, competition law and various company law disputes.
Assisted and represented the Romanian State in an investment arbitration before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes under the ICSID Rules, initiated by an Austrian investor under the Energy Charter Treaty in an oil, gas and mining dispute.
Assisted and represented the Romanian State in the investment arbitration proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes under the ICSID rules in the field of energy, arising from the long-term supply contracts concluded between one of the largest electricity production and supply companies and the two subsidiaries of a Swiss company in Romania.
Assisted and represented an international company, part of a group of companies operating in the insurance-reinsurance sector, in a series of ad-hoc international arbitrations (ad-hoc arbitrations conducted under the Romanian Code of Civil Procedure as lex arbitri) and domestic disputes initiated by a Romanian company in insolvency.
Provided legal assistance on Romanian law in an arbitration dispute under the arbitration rules (ICC Rules) arising out of a commercial contract between Romanian companies and individuals regarding the validity of the contract itself.
