Sorina has participated in various international arbitrations administered under the major institutional arbitration rules, in sectors such as construction and infrastructure, energy and has been involved in complex procedures concerning the annulment of arbitral awards.
In insolvency proceedings, Sorina mainly represented creditors, companies or financial institutions, in relation to the recovery of claims in bankruptcy proceedings, but also in various disputes regarding the execution of credit or financial guarantee contracts. She has also been involved in numerous casefiles in insurance matters, successfully representing the top insurers in the market.
Represented a major Romanian energy producer, in a complex arbitration under the rules of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania deriving from a contract regarding the rehabilitation of a major hydropower plant, entailing multiple high-stake claims and counter claims with an amount in dispute in excess of EUR 25,000,000.
Represented a major Romanian energy supply and trading company, in three complex international arbitrations before the German Arbitration Institute (seat of arbitration: Paris, Bonn) and the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (seat of arbitration Bucharest) deriving from EFET international agreements for the sale of electricity and involving multiple claims, with an amount in dispute in excess of EUR 8,000,000.
Represented a major pharmaceutical producer and distributor in a complex dispute amounting in excess of RON 2,000,000 involving the collection of losses stemming from contracts related to the transfer of receivables and movable securities.
Represented a leader in the waste industry in Romania, in litigation regarding the execution of sanitation contracts and the recovery of debts owed under the contracts.
Represented an important Romanian company recognized in the field of electrical engineering, in the context of case files having as object the annulment of agreements with a value of over EUR 1,000,000 aimed at obtaining shares in a privatized company.
Represented an important insurance/reinsurance company in numerous litigations against the Policyholders Guarantee Fund, in litigations concerning claims arising from insurance contracts, as well as in complex legal issues resulting from the special procedure applicable to insurance companies experiencing financial difficulties.
Represented a leading Cypriot investor in complex insolvency and reorganization proceedings against its debtors for the recovery of several claims secured by real estate mortgages, the value of which exceeded EUR 1,000,000.
Represented an important bank in Romania, in numerous case files having as object the enforcement procedures initiated against several debtors, regarding the non-existence of abusive contractual clauses in the contracts concluded with the bank's clients.
