Bucharest, 28th of March 2016 – Muşat & Asociaţii represented the Financial Supervisory Authority in the dispute over the claims made by Rst Media.
The Magistrates of the Bucharest Court of Appeal accepted the Financial Supervisory Authority’s second appeal against the first instance court’s decision and, as a result of the retrial, they dismissed all of Rst Media’s claims amounting to over RON 1mn and admitted the public institution’s counterclaim, obligating Rst Media to repay to the Financial Supervisory Authority the amount of RON 27,555.64.
In its statement of claim filed by and through its General Manager Radu Soviani, Rst Media requested that the Financial Supervisory Authority be obligated to pay over RON 1mn worth of damages. The claims stated by the journalist Radu Soviani were raised in respect of certain public procurement contracts entered into with the Financial Supervisory Authority for ensuring communication management.
