Muşat & Asociaţii has recently assisted Calipso S.A. in the affiliation of its hotel property, Calipso Oradea, to Doubletree by Hilton via a management contract – the first completed affiliation of an upper market hotel in Romania this year.
„Doubletree by Hilton Oradea will be the first upper market hotel in Oradea and one of the most luxury accommodation in the west of the country. This project evidences an increasing interest of international hotel chains in extending their presence on the local market. On our part, it required a complex and multi-disciplinary approach carried out by a team of six attorneys, who advised Calipso on all legal issues relevant for negotiating and entering into the management agreement with Hilton. Its successful completion confirms our expertise in the hospitality industry, as well as in other related areas of practice”, says Iuliana Craiciu, Partner Musat & Asociatii and the team leader of the project.
Doubletree by Hilton Oradea will feature 147 guestrooms and is due to open in September 2010, entailing an investment in excess of EUR 10 million. Thus, the property affiliated in Oradea will become one of the few European Doubletree by Hilton – a business leisure brand, established in 1969, with a growing collection of luxury hotels in USA and Europe.
