The increased interest and the frequent questions capture the concern of the local business environment

Brașov, 8 May 2018: Prominent representatives of the business environment in Brașov attended on Monday, 7 May, the Data Protection Conference, organized by Mușat & Asociații Attorneys-at-Law, in partnership with Brașov Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the new European Personal Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as the major changes it will make in the Romanian companies once it is enforced as of 25 May 2018. The conference is part of the series of successful events dedicated to this topic, reaching edition number four, after those organized earlier this year in Brașov and at the end of the last year in Bucharest and Bistrița.

At the opening of the conference, Mr. Silviu Costea, President of Brașov Chamber of Commerce and Industry took the floor and the presentations were delivered by Bogdan Mihai, Partner with Mușat & Asociații Attorneys-at-Law, lawyer with more than 15 years of experience in personal data protection, whose clients include prominent companies operating online, such as Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple and by Anca Vătășoiu, Managing Associate with Mușat & Asociații Attorneys-at-Law, specialist with more than 10 years of experience in labour law.

The topics debated during the event were: Practical guide for GDPR Implementation, Sanctions provided by GDPR, Employees’ right to privacy and labour laws and Employees liability for infringements of GDPR obligations in Romania.

Each presentation was followed by a session of questions and answers, during which the participants addressed the two specialists questions on the topics discussed. How can we immediately comply with the new Personal Data Protection European Regulation? and What are the most urgent steps to follow? were the most frequent questions that captured the increased interest and the immediate concern of the local business community.
